Xiaomi MS11 EV Rumors Roundup:
As per the recent leak on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the first electric car from Xiaomi will bear the name MS11. Before this, the EV was simply called Modena, referring to the supposed internal codename. This car has made multiple public appearances during the ongoing street testing but all while under disguise. So, it is big news that we get to see Xiaomi's first EV in all its glory.Unsurprisingly, Xiomai is playing it safe with its first electric vehicle. The design of the MS11 revealed by the leaked real-life images hints at Xiaomi taking inspiration from another Chinese EV brand BYD Seal. The MS11 looks like a 5-door sports sedan with a full glass roof, big tires, flush door handles, and Wilwood brakes. Over on the front, you can notice a sensor-like object above the windscreen. You can even notice the new Xiaomi logo at the center of the wheel.
According to the earlier leaks, Xiaomi Modena (MS11) will be available in three configurations. The first two will be BYD LFP Blade batteries whereas the top-tier model will get the new CATL Qilin cell. Moreover, the car will have Snapdragon 8295 — Qulcomm's fourth-gen car chip based on a 5nm process.
Mass Production in 2024
It is speculated that the price of the MS11 will range between USD 38,350 to USD 51,650—taking on the Tesla Model 3. The mass production of Xiaomi’s first EV car will take place in 2024. Xiaomi plans to manufacture 150,000 vehicles every year. Xiaomi will have its manufacturing plant at Yizhuang with space for research and development as well. The capacity will be around 300,000 EV cars per year. Xiaomi has already set up its Public Relations (PR) department, which will get into marketing after the first official unveiling.
