Design

At first glance, there is not a lot going on in the design front of the new Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. As suggested by the initial renders, Samsung is sticking to the tried and tested design of the Buds Pro. The earbuds and the charging case of the Buds 2 Pro look exactly like the ones on its predecessor.

However, Samsung says the new Buds 2 Pro is 15% smaller and more comfortable to wear. The new "ergonomic design" is said to ensure a more secure fit with reduced movement in the ear.Furthermore, the earbuds retain the original Buds Pro’s IPX7 water resistance. Samsung is even offering the same original color options, albeit under new names: White, Grey, and Bora Purple.

Active Noise Cancelation (ANC)

Galaxy Buds Pro had the most advanced noise cancelation of any product in the lineup. Samsung has taken that and made it more advanced on the new Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. As per the company, the new “Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation” can cancel “even the loudest ambient noise”. Apparently, the buds can be effective against noise of up to 33dB.Ambient mode lets in the ambient noise so that the user can have a conversation without having to take the buds off. Users can have it automatically activated under the special conversation mode.

Moreover, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro boasts studio-quality sound and improved 360° audio for the digital surround sound experience. The latter is available on the latest Galaxy devices running One UI 4.1.1 or newer edition.Then there is 24bit Hi-Fi sound that requires One UI 4.0 or newer. In addition, the buds support HD Voice which will separate the user’s voice from other noise making him/her more audible.

Battery and Charging

On a full charge, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro can last up to eight hours with it extending up to 29 hours with the charging. This is with the ANC turned off. With the noise cancelation turned on, you can expect the endurance to be hours 5 and 18 hours, respectively.
