Days after its global launch, Xiaomi has now launched the Redmi Note 12 Pro in Nepal. It's a mid-range phone powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, 50MP Sony OIS Camera, and a 10-bit AMOLED screen. Design and Display
The Redmi Note 12 Pro retains the glass sandwich design from the Note 11 Pro series. Also, it has the same flat frame form factor with a punch-hole cutout upfront.The display here measures 6.67 inches, and it's an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can switch between four levels of refresh rate. On top of that, you get a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 900 nits of peak brightness. Redmi has also offered Dolby Vision for the first time on a Note series and HDR 10+ certification for content consumption.Moving on, you get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics. The Redmi Note 12 Pro is available in four color options in Nepal - White, Frosted Blue, and Onyx Black.
Camera
As for the optics, the smartphone houses a triple camera setup. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). It is followed by an 8MP ultrawide lens with 120° FOV and a 2MP macro unit. For videos, the primary lens can capture up to 4K resolution at 30fps. Upfront, you get a 16MP selfie snapper.PerformanceTalking of performance, the Note 12 Pro packs a Dimensity 1080 chipset from MediaTek. This 5G SoC is based on a 6nm fabrication process and consists of two powerful Cortex-A78 cores (@2.6GHz) and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores (@2GHz). On the GPU side, you get ARM Mali-G68 MC4 for graphics.The chip is coupled with up to 8GB of DDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. As for the software, the phone boots on MIUI 13 built on top of Android 12. The Redmi Note 12 Pro will receive 2 years of OS and 3 years of security updates in Nepal.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro gets its juice from a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Other than that, the device comes with an X-linear vibration motor and dual stereo speakers. And the connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Overall, the Redmi Note 12 Pro offers a good balance and value for money.
