Two months ago, Redmi unveiled the Note 11 series which also included the Helio G96-powered Note 11S. The company has now launched a 5G variant of this phone, which goes by the name Redmi Note 11S 5G. In this article, we will be discussing the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the Redmi Note 11S 5G in Nepal.
Redmi Note 11S 5G Overview:
Design and Display
Redmi Note 11S 5G is 8.75mm thick which is slightly thicker than the Note 11S 4G. The phone is available in three color options: Midnight Black, Star Blue, and Twilight Blue. As for the build quality, the Note 11S 5G has a plastic back while its frame is made of plastic too.The phone features a 6.6 inch Full HD IPS LCD display. Besides, it supports a variable refresh rate up to 90Hz and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The adaptive refresh rate feature will adjust the display to an ideal refresh rate based on the content you are browsing, thereby maximizing battery life. It is quite unfortunate that the phone does not have an AMOLED screen though.
Performance and Memory
Redmi Note 11S 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. Here, you can find two Cortex-A76 (@2.4GHz) and six Cortex-A55 (@2.0GHz) CPU cores. This has been paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.Likewise, Xiaomi gives you three memory options to choose from: 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB. Additionally, the phone supports expandable storage of up to 1TB as well. All things considered, its performance should be on par with the likes of Realme 9 5G, Poco M4 Pro 5G (Redmi Note 11T 5G) since they have the same Dimensity 810 chip inside. In fact, the Note 11S 5G is almost the same as Note 11T 5G, except that it has an additional 2MP macro sensor. Also, this one brings a 13MP front camera compared to a 16MP selfie shooter on the 11T 5G.The handset comes with MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box. Phones from competing companies like Samsung and Realme run Android 12 from the get-go but Xiaomi is still stuck with Android 11 here. Moreover, Xiaomi does not claim any guaranteed updates for the Redmi Note 11S 5G either—although we can expect it to be updated up to Android 14 (or whatever it ends up being called).
Moving on, the Redmi Note 11S 5G houses three rear cameras in its square camera bump. The primary camera is a 50MP f/1.8 sensor, followed by an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. Moreover, its selfie shooter is a 13MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The camera app has various features such as night mode, portrait mode, 50MP mode among others. Its 5000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging. In terms of battery endurance, Redmi claims 22 hours of video playback, 170 hours of music, and 12 hours of gaming here.Besides the aforementioned features, Xiaomi has heavily emphasized the use of an X-axis linear motor. According to the company, the motor provides a premium experience as it "suits different game scenarios, significantly improving your operating experience".
