Alongside Realme 6, the Chinese smartphone brand also launched the more expensive Realme 6 Pro. It is already available in India, and will soon launch in other parts of the world. According to our latest intel, the Realme 6 Pro is expected to be available in Nepal in May 2020 for a mid-range price tag. However, with the Coronavirus global impact, it might get postponed to June.
Realme 6 Pro Overview
Realme says it has redefined the lineup so as to able to offer flagship-level experience through the Redmi 6 series. Considering the moniker of the device, Realme 6 Pro was supposed to be the successor to Realme 5 Pro. But it is not the case. It is actually a successor to Realme X. Anyway's let's talk more about the Realme 6 Pro.
Display
Realme 6 Pro sports a 6.6-inch Dual punch-hole FHD+ display which packs in 2400 x 1080 pixels. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Other than the rectangular cutout for the dual front cameras, the screen on the Realme 6 Pro looks identical to the Realme 6. Realme 6 has a circular cutout for the single front camera. The company calls this screen an Ultra Smooth Display because of its 90Hz refresh rate. It looks like a 90Hz refresh rate will replace the standard 60Hz screen even in the midrange segment. To avoid the problem of screen tearing, the device comes with a 60/90Hz intelligent switching technology. Also, check out our review of Realme X
Camera
It comes with the same quad-camera setup as Realme 6. The 64MP camera is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor of 119-degree view angle, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a macro lens. The four cameras will be arranged vertically at the top left edge on the back of the device. An LED flash resides on the right side of the camera module. The camera setup offers up to 20X Hybrid Zoom, 64MP ultra-resolution and comes packed with features such as RAW Nightscape 3.0, Pro RAW mode and Ultra Nightscape mode. For videos, there are features such as UIS Max Stabilization, Real-time Bokeh Effect, Video Beauty and Ultra Wide-angle Video. The dual in-display selfie camera comes with a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with an aperture of f/2.1 and 2.0-micron pixel size. It is coupled with a 105-degree ultra-wide sensor. The 8MP sensor has an aperture of f/2.2.
Chipset
Under the hood, the device packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G chipset which makes it the first device to include the chipset ahead of the Redmi Note 9 Pro which is also expected to come equipped with the same chipset. One can choose between 6 and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It is coupled with 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is also a 64GB option available in the 6GB RAM variant.
Others
The phone gets its juice from a 4,300mAh battery which comes with support for 30W fast charging. The company claims that the technology can charge the device form 0 to 100% inside 60 minutes. Realme has included a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the device for security. The device also comes with Super Linear Speaker and Dolby Atmos for better audio.
Realme unveiled the Realme 6 Pro in India alongside Realme 6 on an online-only event held on the 4th of March. The device is now available only in India. We can expect the Realme 6 Pro to launch in Nepal on July 9, 2020. The base variant of the Realme 6 Pro (6/64GB) will probably carry a price tag of Rs. 33,000 when it hits the Nepal mobile retail shops.
