Razer recognizes itself as a lifestyle brand for gamers. At last year's CES, the company came up with the idea for an RGB mask. Initially called "Project Hazel", Razer Zephyr went official during the RazerCon 2021. Now, the company has announced the Razer Zephyr Pro, which resolves the main issues of its predecessor.
Razer Zephyr Pro Overview:
The main highlight of the new Zephyr Pro is its built-in speakers. The feature was weirdly left out of the original Zephyr, for which the company faced a lot of criticism. Razer has now added not one but two speakers and a proprietary voice amplification system.
As per the company, Zephyr Pro can amplify your voice to up to 60db, and it can be heard from a meter distance.
Razer is targeting the same 5-6 hours of battery life on the Zephyr Pro. However, users will have to make a habit of disabling the amplification once they are done talking. For this, Razer has added a dedicated button to enable/disable the amplification.
From the design perspective, Razer has not made many changes. Like the first-gen Zephyr, this has a respirator with an N95-grade filter. It continues the transparent illuminated design with a silicone face seal and dual strap. The new RGB mask even weighs almost the same as its predecessor. The N95-grade filter refines both inhaled and exhaled air while promising better protection than standard disposable masks. Each mask can be used for up to 3 days, after which it needs to be replaced. Moreover, the Zephyr Pro has two intake fans that facilitate the flow of air inside the mask's chamber. Users can choose to run the fans at two different speeds: 4200 and 6200 RPM.
Razer Zephyr Pro Price and Availability
While the company did not provide a specific date, Razer Zephyr Pro will go on sale later this year with a price tag of USD 149.99. It will come with 10 N95 filters that should be enough for a month of use. One can even opt for a starter pack with 99 days' worth of N95 filters for USD 199.99.
