To make the most out of such horsepower, the Red Magic 9 Series packs an updated ICE 13 cooling system with a 10,182mm2 area coverage. Nubia claims up to 18 degrees of temperature drop with this.On top of that, you get a graphene layer and a larger air duct for better airflow. Plus the internal fans spin at 22,000 RPM with 30% improved thermal conductivity than the last gen. And this makes it the ultimate cooling system on a smartphone.
Design and Display
The Red Magic 9 siblings boast an identical flat frame design. Nubia has gone with an aviation-grade aluminum material for the frame and a flat glass panel. The camera sensors are tucked inside with no visible bumps on the surface. You get three color options for both models: Black, Transparent White, and Transparent Black. As for the display, both smartphones sport a 6.8-inch flat AMOLED panel with a 2,480 x 1,116 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This BOE-made screen boasts 1600nits of peak brightness and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. You get an under-display front camera plus a fingerprint scanner. The latter also doubles as a heart rate monitor.
Even as a gaming device, you get a fairly capable triple-camera setup here. It is headlined by a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, the indisplay front camera is a 16MP snapper with 1080p recording.
Battery and the Rest
Fueling the Red Magic 9 Pro is a 6500mAh cell with 80W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the Pro Plus variant packs a smaller 5500mAh battery with a faster 165W charging. In terms of connectivity, you get WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IR blaster.
