Lenovo has finally entered the handheld gaming console arena with the "Legion Go". This Windows handheld gaming console features unique capabilities like detachable controllers. With this, the Legion Go joins competitors such as the Asus ROG Ally, Steam Deck, and more. Design and Display: Inspired by the Nintendo Switch
The Lenovo Legion Go introduces an 8.8-inch QHD+ IPS LCD panel. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, and a 97% DCI-P3 color gamut. Featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 10-point touch screen, this "Lenovo PureSight Gaming Display" delivers intuitive controls. In terms of physical characteristics, the Lenovo Legion Go stands out due to its bulkier and heavier build compared to modern handhelds, weighing 854 grams with the controller. Or 640 grams without. It features extra keys on the back and side, a scroll wheel, two mouse buttons, and an "FPS" button. The Legion Go is available in the Shadow Black color option.
Performance and Memory
Powering this handheld is an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor (the same one you'd find on the ROG Ally). It is offered with up to 16GB LPDDR5X (7500 Mhz) RAM, up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2242 SSD storage, and includes a micro SD slot for expanding storage capacity. Likewise, the device runs on Windows 11 while Lenovo says this handheld can reach a peak 25W of TGP in custom mode.
Cooling mechanism
According to the company, the Legion Go's fan can keep this thing at less than 25dB Quiet Mode. To cool things down, the Legion Go features a 79-bade fan and a couple of exhaust vents.
I/O and Connectivity
Moving on, the Lenovo Legion Go comes with detachable "TrueStrike" controllers, providing flexibility for different playstyles. It also has dual USB Type-C ports, allowing to charge the device and connect accessories simultaneously. These ports support DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.Likewise, for additional connectivity, it offers WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Other than this, it has a six-axis gyroscope, a couple of 2-watt speakers, an integrated trackpad, a large D-pad, an angled mouse wheel, and a total of 10 mappable shoulder buttons, triggers, and grip buttons. Furthermore, the back of the device features a built-in kickstand too.
Battery and Charging
Powering the console is a 49.2 Wh battery that supports 65W charging. Additionally, the Lenovo Legion Go includes Super Rapid Charge technology, allowing the battery to quickly reach a 70% charge in just 30 minutes. Each controller is equipped with a 900 mAh capacity.There's also a power bypass mode that safeguards the battery from unnecessary wear and tear while simultaneously reducing the typical heat generated during operation.
Moving on, the Legion Go features a custom "Legion Space" hub that lets users access all their installed games in one place. You can also different game platforms and stores or purchase new ones via the Legion Game Store in partnership with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Other than this, the Legion Space is where you can adjust settings like resolution, refresh rate, brightness, and more.

In the US, the Lenovo Legion Go will be available for purchase in October starting at USD 699. While it's extremely unlikely that it will arrive via official channels here, we expect the Lenovo Legion Go price in Nepal to be NPR 111,000 if it does.
