iQOO, the Vivo subbrand has unveiled its flagship iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro with top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and flagship specs. In this article, we'll go through the iQOO 12 Pro, its specs, features, and expected price in Nepal.
iQOO 12 Pro Overview:
Design and Display
In terms of design, the iQOO 12 Pro shares an identical visual aesthetic with its vanilla iQOO 12 sibling. The square camera module and Black, White, and Red color options follow here as well. While it doesn't get a boxy frame factor, iQOO has gone with a curved frame design instead. As for the ingress protection, this flagship phone is sorted with an IP68 rating against dust and water drips. On the display side, you get a 6.7-inch curved E7 AMOLED panel. This 2K res screen boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, 3000nits peak brightness, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and HDR 10 support.
Performance
Under the hood, the iQOO 12 Pro gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powering the core. This latest and greatest offering from Qualcomm is fabbed on TSMC's 4nm process. It features a prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.3GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2GHz, and two Cortex-A520 cores running at 2.3GHz. Accompanying the CPU is an Adreno 750 GPU. Memory-wise, the iQOO 12 Pro is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. To make the performance game strong, iQOO has also provided a dedicated Q1 e-sports chip with a performance boost, low latency frame insertion, superframe, and super-resolution (DLSS-like supersampling) features. And for keeping the thermals in check, you get a 5,705mm² vapor chamber.
Talking of the optics, the iQOO 12 Pro rocks a triple camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50MP 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H sensor with OIS. It is followed by a 64MP telephoto unit with 3X optical zoom and up to 100X digital zoom. This 70-230mm camera is also capable of telephoto macro photography as well. Last but not least is a 50MP ultrawide shooter.Over on the front, the punch hole cutout houses a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls.
Battery and the Rest
Moving on, fueling the smartphone is a 5100mAh Li-Po battery with 120W wired, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless support. Connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 7, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. Likewise for biometric security, you get an indisplay fingerprint scanner.
In China, the official price of the iQOO 12 Pro begins at CNY 4,999 for the base 16/256GB version. We expect the iQOO 12 Pro price in Nepal to start from 119,999 if and when it launches here.
