Successor to the popular One X2, Insta360 launched the X3 in Nepal back in November last year. It has now received a sweet price drop in Nepal. Also, starting with this model, the company has dropped the "One" branding for its X-series action cameras. So let's go through the specs, features, availability, and updated price of the Insta360 X3 in Nepal.
Insta360 X3 Overview:
Design
To begin, the X3 retains the candy bar shape of its predecessor. It does, however, include a new 2.29-inch touchscreen that replaces the X2's circular display for easier viewing and control. Complementing this are two new glove-friendly buttons: one for accessing the customizable "Quick Menu," and another for quickly switching between 360 and single-lens mode.As for ingress protection, the X3's screen is covered by tempered glass, and the device is waterproof to 33 feet. It's also a pocket-sized action camera, weighing 180 grams and measuring 11.4 x 4.6 x 3.3 cm.
The X3 has a 1/2-inch 48MP sensor on the inside, as well as improved lenses with an aperture of f/1.9 and a focal length of 6.7 mm. With this, Insta says you can record 360-degree footage at up to 5.7K 30 fps, as well as single-lens videos at up to 4K 30 fps. One can also shoot 360-degree images at 72 MP and regular photos at 18 MP.Similarly, the camera feature in the X3 includes auto-framing, which automatically brings the subject into focus. And a photo animator, which allows you to convert static 360-degree photos into animated videos.Besides this, there are a few new modes to try out as well. The first is Me Mode, in which the camera records slow-mo video at 60fps, and the selfie stick is digitally removed from the scene. Then there's a Loop Recording mode that turns the X3 into a dashcam. Here the action cam continuously records the video but only saves the last minutes according to your preset interval, saving memory on the SD card. It accepts exFAT microSD cards up to 1TB, by the way.Furthermore, the camera has FlowState Stabilization for steady video. With the help of 6-axis stabilization and its proprietary algorithm, it offers smoother videos. Some other features include Active HDR mode, Timelapse, and TimeShift.
Rest of the specs
In terms of battery life, the new X3 has a 1,800mAh cell with a total runtime of 81 minutes. It juices up in about 90 minutes via a USB-C port. The action camera connects with your smartphone via Insta 360 app which allows users to edit videos and photos on the go.
