Garmin, launched a new addition to their Tactix 7 series smartwatches with the Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition. Let's discuss further the Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition, including its specifications, features, price in Nepal, and more!
Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition Overview
Design and Display
The entire lineup of Garmin Tactix 7 takes a very tactical and rugged design approach, and the AMOLED edition does not deviate from that either. This approach extends further into choices of material as well. The watch features extremely scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for lens material. Similarly, the watch bezels and rear cover are made out of Titanium, whereas the case material is a fibre-reinforced polymer. It measures 51 mm x 51 mm x 16.40 mm and weighs 96 grams. As the name suggests, this edition features an AMOLED screen instead of a MIP display. A MIP display prioritises power efficiency at the cost of vibrant colours. The screen is the main differentiating factor from the rest of the offerings. It is 1.4 inches in diameter with a resolution of 454 x 454 and has the AOD feature. The resolution of the AMLOED edition is almost double in comparison to the standard variant. The Garmin Tactix 7 offers 10 ATM water resistance and meets the US MIL-STD-810 military standard. It is available with a black silicone watch band by default.
Performance and features
The information on what's under the hood is only limited to that the watch offers a 32 GB memory. But, on the other hand, the watch offers features straight out of James Bond movies. The niche features it offers are highly useful to military personnel and aviators. Some examples of these features are night vision capabilities, stealth mode, jumpmaster mode, navigation with access to the worldwide aeronautical database, and aviation weather access. Furthermore, you can even access apps like AB Synapse and features like Outdoor Maps+ from Garmin themselves. It provides you with aiming solutions for long-range shooting and premium mapping content respectively. The Tactix 7 also offers features like a built-in LED flashlight (white/green), 30+ built-in sports modes, daily workout suggestions, a real-time stamina manager, recovery time advisor, jet lag advisor, smart notifications, Garmin contactless payments, red shift mode, and so on. The watch is not limited to the features I've listed either. There are even more features for you to utilise and enjoy.
Battery and the rest
The Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED edition offers up to 31 days of battery backup on regular use. The number, however, drops to 11 days of usage with AOD turned on. It offers a minimum of 17 hours with continuous music playback plus all satellite systems turned on. On the other hand, it offers a maximum of 41 days of battery life with the "battery saver watch mode" turned on. It uses the Garmin proprietary plug charger as the charging method. This thing comes loaded with sensors, which include GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, Multi-frequency positioning, SATIQ Technology, wrist heart rate monitor, and pulse ox blood oxygen saturation monitor. Furthermore, it also includes a Barometric altimeter, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, thermometer, and ambient light sensor. It also offers connectivity via Bluetooth, ANT+, and WiFi. It pairs with the Garmin Connect mobile app available on both Android and iOS. Lastly, it is also compatible with other Garmin devices such as handheld navigation systems, sensors, bike lights, etc.
Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition Price in Nepal and Availability
Considering all the things this watch has to offer, Garmin prices the watch at a whopping USD 1,399.99. If it ever launches in Nepal, we expect the Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED Edition price in Nepal to be NPR 216,000.
